I would like to respectfully raise and clarify an issue regarding a VOLE paddle that I received during the pickleball activity held on September 15, 2026, at Smash Sport Pickleball in General Luna, Siargao, organized by Mr. Genesis Atienza.
After the awarding, I was under the impression that the paddle was part of the prizes or recognition given to the winners. This expectation was reasonable because the paddle was associated with VOLE, and the event was promoted as having “exciting prizes.” Other players also congratulated me regarding the paddle, which further led me to believe that it was part of the prize.
However, I was later informed that the paddle was not actually included in the official prizes and that it was expected to be returned. I was surprised by this because there was no clear communication to me immediately after the awarding that the paddle was only temporarily provided or that it was supposed to be returned.
I was also informed that Mr. Genesis Atienza had contacted my sister and other individuals regarding the incident, with the situation being described as me having “allegedly took” the paddle. I would like to clarify that I never intended to take something that did not belong to me. I genuinely believed that the paddle was part of the prize given to me after the awarding.
I was also shown/approached regarding pictures related to the incident. I do not appreciate being pressured or threatened with the use of pictures, especially since this situation could have been addressed directly with me and clarified properly from the beginning.
I am willing to cooperate and resolve this matter properly. If VOLE Philippines and Mr. Genesis Atienza require the paddle to be returned, I am willing to return it, provided that the necessary shipping and transportation expenses are covered. The nearest J&T or LBC branch requires several rides from my residence, which would result in additional transportation expenses on my part.
I am raising this matter not to create conflict, but to provide my side and clarify the misunderstanding. I respectfully request clarification from VOLE Philippines regarding whether the paddle was officially intended as a prize, whether there was any prior instruction that it had to be returned, and what the proper arrangement was between VOLE Philippines and the event organizer concerning the paddle.
I hope this matter can be resolved fairly, respectfully, and professionally, with proper communication between all parties involved.
